Bernese Mountain Dogs were originally  bred as robust, hard-working, multi-purpose farm dogs.   Nowadays, very few Bernese are engaged in full-time employment, so acting as companion and watch-dog within the family is the most common occupation for these loyal dogs.  And after a long day spent keeping their 'family' in order, what better than a nice, comfy bed for a weary Bernese Mountain Dog?
