News Update 20th August 2009

Bernese owner Niall MacPherson is taking part in the Great North Run which takes place on 20th September 2009. 

The Bupa Great North Run is the world’s biggest half marathon and the website can be found here:  http://www.greatrun.org/Events/Event.aspx?id=1

This year Niall has chosen Bernese Welfare UK to be the good cause to benefit from his taking part in the run and is therefore inviting pledges for sponsorship or donations for completing the 13 mile course.

Every penny that Bernese Welfare UK receives is spent directly on the unfortunate, displaced Bernese who need care and help. None of the money that Bernese Welfare receives is spent on Honorariums, gratuities or administration costs nor are any funds spent on unnecessary gifts, luxuries or enticements to Bernese who have already been successfully rehomed to doting new owners - every penny donated or fund-raised goes towards the costs directly associated with the actual day-to-day care, rehabilitation, veterinary treatment and rehoming of rejected or displaced Bernese.
